Apple today introduced the Apple iPad tablet. Featuring a 9.7″ (diagonal, ) display capable of displaying 1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch (ppi) and able to show HD video. The iPad features an Apple designed 1GHz A4 processor and comes in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models with WiFi only or WiFi plus 3G connectivity (data plans required). At 0.5″ thick and 1.5-pounds the iPad the missing portable device between your iPhone and your notebook or desktop Mac. The iPad features an amazing 10 hour battery for all day mobile computing. And with internet, email, videos, music, eBooks, and iWork for the iPad along with the ability run almost all existing iPhone and iPod touch Apps, the iPad is the next step in mobile computing.

• 32GB WiFI-only – $599USD / 32GB WiFi + 3G – $729*

The WiFi model iPad is shipping in 60 days, with the 3G model expected to follow 30 days after that. Canadian pricing currently unknown.
